Turkish IP law is quite new in Turkey, compare to European and American laws. Indeed, specific regulations are in course since 1995 and specialized courts are set-up since 2002.

INLAWCO has a significant experience regarding intellectual and industrial property matters, particularly trademarks, patents and related litigations.

  • Advised French, Turkish and English broadcasting companies in Turkey, either for their acquisition projects or contractual issues. Our various interventions permitted a close contact between our lawyers and Court’s judges and IP/IT experts.

  • Advising LEVI’S Turkey’s Head Offices on Turkish Intellectual Property law, including trademark infringements and protection issues. LEVI’S managers and directors have been trained by INLAWCO partner on Turkish law by analyzing specific court cases.

  • Representing worldwide leading cosmetic company l’OREAL in their trademark lawsuits and legal conservatory measures against trademark counterfeiters, implementation of judicial conservatory measures and cooperation with Turkish Custom Administration.

  • Providing legal consultancies to the leading company IBM related to Internet law in France and data protection issues under European laws.

  • Advising French leading company TOTAL in Turkey, with respect to a trademark lawsuit against the Turkish Football Federation and the use of TOTAL’s logo by the Turkish Football Federation.

  • Attending American projector company INFOCUS in front of Turkish courts, by suing Turkish companies on intellectual property grounds and unfair competition rules under Turkish law.

  • Registering and defending French geographical names for the French INAO, “Institut National des Appelations d’Origine Controlée”. These names are “Bordeaux”, “Champagne”, “Cognac”, “Savoy”, etc.

  • Assisting world's top automotive supplier company in trademark and patent counterfeiting cases in Turkey and advising the client in intellectual property law issues.

  • Representing the French company in its intellectual property lawsuit against a Turkish company. These companies have reached to an agreement after a lawsuit.

  • Assisting ARTE, the French-German TV channel’s Istanbul Office with respect to broadcasting license agreements under Turkish law.

  • Advising French audio-visual company in their business transaction projects with a major Turkish broadcasting group. French Group negotiated several projects in Turkey in TV acquisitions.

  • Assisting Turkish leading television and broadcasting company SHOW TV’s French subsidiary in media law and corporate law matters under French laws.

  • Defending Netherlands electronic company before Turkish courts with respect to a patent law infringement case, in cooperation with DIGITURK, Turkish pay-per-view TV channel.

  • Managing the due diligence process of Turkey’s main pay-per-view broadcasting group, in a acquisition project. He advised French Group’s in Turkish telecommunication law.

  • Firm’s partner actively participated to the privatization process of TURK TELEKOM. He assisted the Spanish telecommunication company TELEFONICA in due diligence processes.

OECD report: Turkey’s growth will surpass India’s by 2017


Turkey's growth rate is expected to rank third after China and India in coming years and to pass India and take the second spot by 2017 among Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) member countries, according to a new report.

The Agricultural Outlook report estimates that China's growth rate will drop to 8.2 percent from double digit rates after 2010. Turkey is expected to rank third for growth rate in the next 10 years, right after India and China. India will see a higher growth rate than Turkey until 2014; then, the report predicts, its annual growth rate will decline to 5.3 percent while that of Turkey will continue to climb, exceeding this rate. Russia is expected to rank directly below Turkey in the next 10 years.
